" BEN " written by Don Black and Walter Scharf I sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 50 views - 1 day ago
I sang "Ben" a few days ago, directly after I´ve tried "I´ll be there", which I found more honourable in terms of condolence to an outstanding artist. I can´t sing any of the songs, Michael Jackson has written. And I think, there are people who can do better than me and who are real fans. I saw pictures of the kid Michael, and I think he was so cute and even before he went to surgery he was a very attractive young man and I tried to sing the song with my voice as it was 20 years ago, when I was a kid myself. My mon said, she had goozebums when she heard me singing that high. I played it to her and she said, it felt like my singing was coming from the past and she began to cry. Oops. That is not what I´ve intended. But I guess only a loving mother knows what she felt and I knew what she meant.

Here´s to all the great moms in the world. I dedicate this one to you.

Cheers. André :-)

PS.1:
Thanks for the playback. Got it from my friend:

PS.2: From Wikipedia:
"Ben" is a number-one hit song written by Don Black and Walter Scharf and recorded by the teenaged Michael Jackson for the Motown label in 1972. Originally written for Donny Osmond, "Ben" was offered to Jackson as Osmond was on tour at the time and unavailable for recording. The single, theme of a 1972 film of the same name (the sequel to the 1971 killer rat movie Willard), spent one week at the top of the U.S. pop chart.[1] It also reached number-one on the Australian pop chart, spending eight weeks at the top spot.[1] The song also later reached a peak of number seven on the British pop chart.[1].
The song became the first of 13 number-one pop hits for Jackson in the United States and his first number-one as a solo artist.

" I´LL BE THERE " written by Gordy, West, Davis, Hutch I sung by André Berlin, piano Mike Kalombo Baerchenp... - 100 views - 5 days ago
Yesterday I saw parts of the ceremony for Michael Jackson. I grieve, especially with the kids, who lost their father. So many fans from all over the world came to condole. That was so so sad. I saw some of his friends saying how much they loved him and gonna miss him. May he rest in peace.
Michael Jackson and his brothers, once sang a wonderful song about friendship and I wondered, why none of his friends was there, when he was obviously in need? I don´t know. It´s so sad.
Anyways, "I´ll be there" is a great title with a great theme and I´d like to dedicate it to friendship itself. Here´s to the friends!!!

When my lover asked me to sing a Michael Jackson song, I refused. I am no fan and only knew the songs from "Thriller" and so. None of the songs he´d done before. And I thought, this one was from Mariah Carey. She covered it though. The song was written for the "Jackson 5 " in 1970 and became a No.1 hit in the USA. I´ve chosen it as I heard in the ceremony and was very touched, because of these lines as to friendship.
Today I sang the song exactly 10 times. And I must tell you, I was hooked from the first one till the last. I closed my eyes and lots of memories occured and disappeared and I felt lots of love. There was an energy floating through me and I sang, like I never did before. As I am not religious, I don´t think of it as a spiritual moment, but of a creative one. Usually I can´t memorize songs easily, but with this one it was different. Closing my eyes helped me to catch it more intense. It may not be pretty to watch, but I am very proud of the singing itself. I never thought I could sing like this. The piano playing is magical and I am happy I found it today here on YT. Without it, I wouldn´t have had such a wonderful experience. Thanks to Mike Kalombo. Here´s his channel:

PS. Some info from Wikipedia:
"I'll Be There" is a soul song written by Berry Gordy, Bob West, Hal Davis, and Willie Hutch, which resulted in two U.S. number 1 hit singles: the original 1970 recording by American vocal quintet The Jackson 5 and a 1992 live version by American pop singer Mariah Carey and American R&B singer Trey Lorenz.
The Jackson 5 original was recorded for the Motown Records, and released as the first single from their Third Album in 1970. Produced by the songwriters, "I'll Be There" was The Jackson 5's fourth number 1 hit in a row, following "I Want You Back," "ABC," and "The Love You Save." "I'll Be There" is also notable as the most successful single released by Motown during its "Detroit era" (1959-1972). It is also the fifth in the group's string of 5 consecutive number one pop hits, making them the first black male group to achieve this.

" WE BELONG " written by Eric Lowen & Dan Navarro | sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 66 views - 1 week ago
I loved this song back in 1984. I remember Pat Benatar being very pregnant in the video, but then, I was a baby myself in the good old 80´s. You´ll find more infos about the song below.
I never read the lyrics before, though I still have the single from that song and to be honest, I misunderstood the song back then. I always thought it is a more romantic and hopeful song, as to "we belong to the light". But in fact it was kind of depressing, singing to fight for the love and actually having serious doubts about the relationship. I
don´t know, I was just surprised, when I tried the song once and then sang it twice. This is the 2nd and last reording.
That day I gave a mini concert so to say, my 5th in a row. I sang 10 songs and petended to have audience. I have recorded all of them, as usual, otherwise I don´t feel pushed and I don´t know how it sounds. Still I am surprised to hear my voice in digital quality, as it sounds different to when I hear myself.
I´m not really happy with the sound of the video, but the playback already sounded kind of weird, well cheap. I think I won´t sing to all the songs I once liked, anymore, only the ones that really move me and move my experience on my musical way. I won´t say career, because I´ll always be a housewife. During my concert I was vacuuming, cleaning, washing and making the bed. Lol.

Well, that´s it for now. Hope you enjoy this song.

Here´s to Pat Benatar, whatever she is doing now...

Please subscribe or donate Unicef. Or both.

André :-)

PS:
"We Belong" is the first single from Pat Benatar's sixth studio album Tropico, released in late 1984. It matched the success of "Love Is a Battlefield" on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the U.S., peaking at number 5, and reached number 3 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and the top 40 on its Adult Contemporary chart in 1985 (see 1985 in music). The song was written by songwriting team Lowen & Navarro (the latter is a cousin of Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction fame). The single featured acoustic guitar, drums, electric guitar, and a choir of children. The song earned Benatar a Grammy nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.

The lyrics of "We belong":

We Belong, We Belong to the light

Many times I've tried to tell you
Many times I've cried alone
Always I'm surprised how well you
Cut my feelings to the bone

Don't want to leave you really
I've invested too much time
To give you up that easy
To the doubts that complicate your mind

CHORUS:
We Belong to the light
We Belong to the thunder
We Belong to the sound of the words
We've both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace
For worse or for better
We Belong, We Belong
We Belong together

Maybe it's a sign of weakness
When I don't know what to say
Maybe I just wouldn't know
What to do with my strength anyway
Have we become a habit
Do we distort the facts
Now there's no looking forward
Now there's no turning back
When you say

CHORUS

Close your eyes and try to sleep now
Close your eyes and try to dream
Clear your mind and do your best
To try and wash the palette clean
We can't begin to know it
How much we really care
I hear your voice inside me
I see your face everywhere
Still you say

CHORUS

" DAYDREAM BELIEVER " written by John Stewart I sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 71 views - 1 week ago
The initial song for me on YT. It was the first karaoke video I have seen here on YT back in 2007 by an australian guy, who did a tremendous job on this song. And I thought, maybe I should sing a song too and post it. The rest is history. Lol. I am very happy I finally found a playback for this wonderful song, that always cheers me up whenever I sing it. Well, usually I´m only singing the chorus... And as always i didn´t try the song and sang live without editing. This is the first of 2 versions I made.

To all believers in daydreams. :-)

PS. The original song: "The Monkees version" of "Daydream Believer":

Single by The Monkees
from the album The Birds, The Bees & the Monkees
B-side"Goin' Down"
ReleasedOctober 30, 1967
Format7"
RecordedJune 14, 1967 and August 9, 1967
GenrePop
Length3:07
LabelColgems
Writer(s)John Stewart
ProducerThe Monkees and Chip Douglas

Producer Chip Douglas introduced The Monkees to the song. It was recorded during the sessions for their 1967 album Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. but was ultimately included on their 1968 album The Birds, The Bees & the Monkees (it proved to be bandmember Peter Tork's only appearance on the album). All four Monkees appear on the track, with Michael Nesmith on lead guitar, Peter Tork on piano (he also came up with the arrangement), and Micky Dolenz on backing vocals. Davy Jones wasn't sure of the song's potential at first, and admitted later that he'd recorded the vocal with a hint of annoyance at the ongoing takes. His feelings changed when the song became a hit.

John Stewart's original lyrics in the second stanza were "You once thought of me as a white knight on a steed, Now you know how funky I can be". When the Monkees recorded the song, "funky" was changed to "happy", removing any sense of contrast or meaning to the lyric.

" MAGIC " written by John Farrar I sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 76 views - 2 weeks ago
Here´s my 2nd rendition of "Magic". The first one is dedicated to Jason. Here´s to Mr. Zito. :-)

I loved the movie "Xanadu" back then. Nowadays I only like the music. Both, Olivia Newton-John and Electric Light Orchestra have put strong songs to the soundtrack. My favourite songs from ONJ still are "Xanadu" and "Suspended in time", that I´ve sung a capella last year. "Magic" was the bigger hit in the USA. And it reveils how talented John Farrar was as songwriter and producer. It´s kind of tricky to sing, but it was fun. So here´s to the great songwriter John Farrar.

Cheers. André

PS: Please subscribe me and not John Farrar´s channel in case you might like my cover. Does he have a channel I wonder? :-)))

Dedicated to Jason, a wonderful person and great singer with a beautiful bright and charming voice. Here´s to you Mr. Zitooooooo:

Have a look at his channel and please subscribe. Oh, he´s gonna be embarrassed with what I´m doing here, but I risk that. What could he do? He first has to cross the ocean, before complaining. I´ve recorded the song twice but found this one more appropriate, wearing a hat and being myself. Whereas my 2nd video is more or less abstract, reduced with one and half head of me.

Cheers. André

" BRIGHT EYES " written by Mike Batt I sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 96 views - 3 weeks ago
I always loved that song and the movie "Watership Down". When I saw the original animation in the karaoke video I had to shed a tear in the end. I got the playback from my dear Tonny. Danke je wel :-). Here´s her channel:

http://www.youtube.com/user/Sw ingingsChoices

The song was written by Mike Batt for Art Garfunkel as title song for the movie. Mike Batt also composes and produces for Katie Melua. Now I sing his song, and maybe when I try a Katie Melua song, I am gonna meet Art Garfunkel. Maybe I am just having silly thoughts and test who is reading this. LOL

Anyways here is my rendition. I wanna try a new look for my videos and maybe you would like to comment on it. I need some other visual design for my next original song that is gonna be posted in July. I don´t want the video for it to look like I am sitting in my living room, though I am, but I don´t want to have a multi edited video to a multi-edited song either. So maybe you´d like to give me some feedback. Would be very kind. Thaaaaaaaank you.

Cheers. André :-)

"PUTTIN´ ON THE RITZ" written by Irving Berlin I sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 90 views - 3 weeks ago
Irving Berlin wrote more than 1000! wonderful songs. No wonder, he is one of my musical heroes. Not only we share the same family name, we also share the passion for classy music. My all time fave christmas song that I sing every year is his masterpiece, for which he won an Oscar in 1943.
When I found the playback last week, I was very delighted. It is the 80´s version popularized by Taco though, sounding very special, but also very synthetic. His version was a big hit in Germany and I still like it. But I couldn´t sing like him and whatever I tried, I ended up sounding, like I was hidden a plastic bag. Too much 80´s , too much plastic. So I´ve put an effect on it, to let it sound more like from the old radio days. I´ve used it also for my renditions of "Diamonds are a girl´s best friend" and "Dream a little dream of me". If you like that sound, have a look on my videos and comment them. Would be nice. I love these old songs and I would love to sing more songs from the 20´s - 40´s. I´ll be looking for more handmade instrumentals, so please stay tuned. I hope not all of them have so much words in one song. I nearly broke my tongue, singing this one.

If you want to see the wonderful colours of my new designer glitter couture, watch the end of the video. There you can also see my hair when it has been washed a few minutes before. Lol

Please subscribe or comment or do both. I would be thrilled. :-)

Cheers. André

" SAM " written by John Farrar, Hank Marvin & Don Blac I sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 79 views - 3 weeks ago
Dedicated to my friend fideles08. :-)

http://www.youtube.com/user/fi deles08

So here´s another Olivia Newton-John song. I´ve recorded "Sam" last week, together with some other songs from ONJ. But only a few will be posted. Some are just not good enough and some were just too silly, well I was silly when singing. And I don´t want to have an ONJ fan channel. I´ve chosen this one, as it was also written by John Farrar, a man I admire a lot, for his great composing and production skills. He mainly worked with ONJ and wrote almost all of her big hits. Singing "Sam" felt great, though it is obviously a women song. However I don´t care and I am man enough to sing women´s. :-)))
Besides the best songs were written for female singers. Damned. Anyways, have fun.
I found the playback on my friend´s channel:

Thank you dear for always providing me and others with good playbacks.

Cheers. André Berlin, still Bearly :-)))

" ICH GEH` AUF GLAS " written by Peter Plate & AnNa R. I sung by Bearly, piano by Mithrascult Baerchenp... - 74 views - 4 weeks ago
Well, I wanted to sing in german again, since I´ve been writing so many lyrics in german lately.
I´ve recorded this great song from "Rosenstolz" about 10 months ago and I still regard it as one of my best covers ever. I guess, I can´t top it, but I don´t have to, anyways.

The piano playing is from Mithrascult. He´s one of the most talented people I know from YouTube. Here´s his channel:

http://www.youtube.com/user/mi thrascult

I had his video playing on an extra screen and so it felt like he was sitting in the same room with me.
In a way we were in the same room, a cyber room, out of time, but yet synchronized on demand. :-)))

Again, I gave it only one try. It fills me with lots of emotion and I just can´t bear to sing more often.

" HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW " written by John Farrar I sung by André Berlin Baerchenp... - 74 views - 1 month ago
I dedicate this one to Linda. :-)

Today I sang all my favourite songs from Olivia Newton-John. I´ve recorded some of them and gonna post them soon. With this one I sang 2 tracks. I doubled the second one for the chorus to get a fuller sound. I hope it worked. I wanted to practice singing more precise singing more than one track for my next original songs. But it is not easy and quiet nerving. Not the singing, but using the right buttons when recording. Oh, I still can´t programme our dvd recorder. Lol.

Anyways, here is one of my top faves from ONJ, next to "I honestly love you" and "Magic". Oh and "Hopelessly devoted to you". So it´s a top 4 actually. :-)

Hope you enjoy.

Cheers. André :-)))

About Me: My Channel:
I´d like to describe it as my little cover corner. It´s supposed to be a celebration of singing and songwriting. I´d like to share my joy of singing and like to honour the work of songwriters throughout the world. Therefore no copyright infridgement intended. I never took singing lessons, and I´m naturally good looking. I worked as a top model before I crashed in here. :-)))

My YouTube Past And Future (2006-2010):
I´ve opened this account in 2006, using the nickname "Baerchenprinz" ("The Prince of Bears" is a children´s book character I´ve once created and that looked a lot like me. Lol), in order to collect some rare videos. Well at first. As 14 months later in 2007, I started to karaoke some of my favourite songs. In 2008 I began to cover, collab and duet. In 2009 I ´d like to sing more to handmade playbacks by other tubers and also post my own songs. In 2010 I plan to publish my first album and then see where it leads me to. I never sang to an audience yet, but I feel ready to try. Therefore I´ve opened a 2nd account, where I only post my original works. It´s named after me, that is André Berlin. Please have a look and subscribe if you like. See website below. :-)

My Personels:
I live a happy life in a deeply loving relationship. We are multinational, non religious and multiresidential and therefore travel a lot. We live in Spain, Germany and the Czech Republic, drive a french car, have a swiss coffee machine, work on american computers, use japanese hifi, have swedish furniture and a german kitchen, love czech food, love the spanish way of life and wear clothes from all over the world.

My Biography:
I´ve studied visual arts and design and worked self employed until 2008. Then with no regret, I quit all my contracts. Now I am only focussing on my art works, that is composing, writing, painting and singing. I don´t play any instruments, so I´m not a classical singer/songwriter. Composing music is like drawing pictures to me. Figure, my approach to music is rather visual. Notes have colours and colours have sounds. So I paint notes or write colours and add words as to give it a structure, a frame. That is how I create a song. :-)
I´m interested in all kind of creative processes and people who are creative. Therefore I wish to collaborate more. The YouTube Universe seems to full of talents. That truly amazes me. There are really interesting people out there, I´d like to be connected with. So creation is the key to friendship I think.
