Good news travels fast, and, starting Oct. 23, its arriving daily at Hartsfield-Jackson from Seattle. Alaska Airlines now flies daily, nonstop, round-trip flights to Seattle from the worlds busiest airport.

We are pleased to welcome Alaska Airlines, which will give our customers additional choices for service to Seattle and connections to the Northwest and Alaska, said Aviation General Manager Ben DeCosta. This new route will add to our focus on growth and economic development in metro Atlanta.

Alaska Airlines was awarded the 2008 J.D. Power and Associates Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among Network Carriers in North America designation, which complements Hartsfield-Jacksons position as the worlds most efficient airport (Air Transport Research Society, 2008) and its commitment to exceeding customers expectations.

Atlanta represents one of the largest domestic markets that we didnt already serve with nonstop service from Seattle, and were pleased to add it to our growing list of East Coast destinations, said Steve Jarvis, Alaska Airlines vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience.

The addition of Alaska Airlines to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will give Atlanta increased access to the Asian corridor, with connections to Beijing, Taipei, Tokyo and Seoul, said William Pate, president and CEO of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. This new flight will help feed convention attendance because of the international scope of conventions held in Atlanta and will give international tourists who visit multiple cities a new way to travel to Atlanta.

The once-a-day service to Seattle will utilize a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which will accommodate 157 passengers. The flight will leave Atlanta at 6:10 p.m. and arrive in Seattle at 8:10 p.m. local time.

Alaska Airlines, founded in 1932, serves 90 U.S. cities. Hartsfield-Jackson offers nonstop service to 160 U.S. cities and more than 90 destinations in 55 countries. (less info)
