It is not enough to simply ask if there is a God. Anyone who exercises a shred of intellectual honesty will quickly find out that none of the major religions can physically validate anything they claim. But that's not all. One also discovers that most religious beliefs are so comically laughable that it defies all reason for people to actually take this crap seriously.
And yet people do; by the billions!
The real question is therefore not to ask if there is a God. Rather, a far more profound and fundamental question is,
"Why do so many people still believe anyway?"
Through the power of experimental and social psychology, I believe we can answer this question. If applied properly, such knowledge may even be useful in helping others break free from the demons of faith and superstition.
