Do you understand the real meaning of sustainable living? Such as goats and farming? Well if you dont, come with me and Ill show you how! Did you know that pasteurized goat milk can be stored up to 7 days under 4-5 degrees Celsius in a cold refrigerator? And also did you know it is easily absorbed into the humans body within 20 minutes of drinking it plus it is a good source of calcium with low cholesterol? This information was told by Akkara Thititavorn, the owner of Prujampa Goat Farm, an ecological goat and vegetable farm in Thalang district of Phuket. This goat farm is also setting quite an excellent example on how to live a sustainable life by attempting to reduce carbon footprints by not using any acidic formulas or altering natural ingredients. Natural resources such as plants and fruits are the real reason behind these goats healthy physique. Akkara is feeding his goat with these fruits and plants hes growing in his farm and he also uses them as his cooking ingredient, he does not need to buy ingredients from outside at all, which is a good way to cut costs on grocery shopping. The goats excrement is also the best fertilizer for the trees, plants and fruits to grow. This is such a great example of a sustainable lifestyle following His Majesty the Kings philosophy of living a sustainable life and maintaining the balance and respecting the environment. We talked more to Akkara Ti-ti-tha-vorn about the way hes living his sustainable life following His Majesty The Kings philosophy. I am applying the self-help management theory to this farm. We are living a sustainable lifestyle following His Majesty The Kings Philosophy. This goat farm is not only producing clean pasteurized goat milk but also we are successful in breeding new goat breeds for export sales. Also, we have this so-called By Product in which we are gathering the goats excrement and use it as effective fertilizer for the plants and fruits or trees in the farm. This method is able to help reduce the wheatgrass and insects problems because were only using the natural ingredients for our farm. We are strictly concerned about our environment. This is the best way for farmers and gardeners to manage their farms without disturbing the nature with chemicals. Not only goat milk and fruits or herbal plants are growing in Prujampa Goat Farm, but a variety of fish such as catfish or serpent head fish are also growing in his backyard pond too, giving Akkara enough food supply for his household and creating more income. The food chain systems are easily created by letting the goats eat the natural grasses and fruits which are fertilized by the goats excrement. Biological water which is made from left over fruits mixed with water is sprinkled all over the farm on plants and even added into goats water, 20 cc per 10 liters, for them to drink and absorb good effective bacteria which are good for their health and immune systems. By living a sustainable lifestyle following His Majesty The Kings philosophy, Akkara and his farmers and fellow gardeners are living quite a happy and prolonged lifestyle by not ruining the natural resources and environment. He is able to lower his household costs and feeding plus milking his goats every morning, without hassle. This is a true good example of living such a sustainable lifestyle by a man who wants nothing more than a happy family by having his goats, naturally fertilized grass and fruits, and his green plus peaceful agricultural farm. Do you like kids? Because I do! And so here I am at Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation for kids at Koh Sirey for their 2nd years anniversary party. Lets go see some cute cheeks! On Sunday 28th of June, we had the pleasure to visit the Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation for kids at Koh Sirey for their 2nd year anniversary party. We saw many cute faces, smiles and laughs from the kids at the foundation. A stage was set up and shows were performed by all the children at the foundation; some were shy but most of these kids are very brave and lively. They are just so happy that on their special days, many visitors dropped by and show them support and love. There were not less than 132 kids that welcomed every visitor. The first show was a puppet show. The kids enjoyed the show performed by their favorite nannies. They paid so much attention to the show and laughed hysterically. After the puppet show, a singing performance was performed by cute little girls ranging from age 2 to 5 years old. The third show was a fashion show. Little kids were dressed up in a variety of costumes and paraded around on the stage, strutting their little walks, hip swaying and posing for the camera like professional models, creating a big commotion and even standing ovations from the adults appreciating their cuteness and how adorable the kids are. We talked to Nuttisa Taebanpakoon, President of the Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation about the anniversary party, the children and volunteering. She said: Today is the 2nd anniversary party for Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation for kids. This foundation was established on the 29th June 2007 which makes it two years for us now. We have about 150/160 kids. We have 95 young kids and 65 older kids. The older kids are attending Koh Sirey School and we pick kids up everyday. Volunteers also play an important role in helping us by teaching the kids English. They do not have perfect English language skill but its better than nothing. I have to thank the kind volunteers both Thai and foreigners who are taking part in this. We welcome donations or help of any kind. Because the expenses are clearly very high due to the fact that kids are growing and consuming much food. By looking at the childrens faces, I could tell that they were all blissful and in high-spirits. Most of these kids have no parents. These are the kids who never knew the true meaning of Mother or Father, yet they are so cheerful and confident, energetic with vibrant personalities and well behaved manners. You can help them, by applying as a volunteer to help teach English or any other subject. Also, donations and sponsorship are welcome.
