Joaquin La Habana

JOAQUIN LA HABANA - the singing dancer, transformation artist of a special class, voice acrobat and Santería-high priest with roots in the Yoruba tribe. His artistic creations stand for the synthesis of tradition, exotic and modern.

In the foreground of his shows stands the unification and abolishment of actual contrasts as well as the connection from separation of orders and units.
For that, JOAQUIN uses his artistic qualifications that he through years of education in the contemporary dance, ballet, theatre and song has mastered, merging with the centuries long tradition of Santería-Shamanism, whose culture forms the spiritual basis for JOAQUIN.
The original West African tradition is linked with the spiritual rituals and Cuban theatre, that connects the dualities of the sexes with the Gods androgynous characteristics and in the metamorphoses of the cosmic powers arises the system of the four elements constituting the components of modern performance art.

Spirituality and rationality, archaic and postmodern, soul and matter, life and afterlife meet, unfolds and unifies after the dialectic principle.
The sensuousness form of expression opens new ways of reality perception for the audience.

CHIHA

Chiha - a lioness in an Assfah* - inspires her fans with a mix of Arab-Andalousian as well as Berber traditions and the beautiful Art of Nubat Chanting. Being the main singer of the Royal Palace in Kartago in 1968, she performed countless tours, TV and radio broadcasts which introduced her to the public both in Tunisia and abroad.
The voice of this Oriental jewel and the tragic lyrics dealing with love and conflicts of cultures which are based in the experimental program of Orient & Occident provide fantastic Arabic trance.

RICARDO MORENO

Ricardo Moreno's texts are both poetic and realistic, they are dealing with Cuba, love and the dilapidation of Havanna. He is living in berlin Berlin where he founded his own band. Today his team has 11 members and their style can be described as Afro-Cuban jazz funk with timba and hip hop elements.
