Brief Introduction:
Mao Yong began studying music and fine arts at an early age and was educated at Tianjin University, majoring in electrical engineering. When he graduated in 2005, he started to learn choral music and choral conducting under the instruction of Prof. Ren Baoping, Prof. Wu Lingfen, Dr. Wu Yiping, Mr. Leon Shiu-wai Tong, Vice-president of International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM), etc. He has been engaged with Peiyang Chorus as conductor since 2006, covering main rehearsals with advanced choral concepts. In the meantime Peiyang Chorus has received several first prizes in international choral competitions. He was selected as one of the world's most promising young choral conductors by IFCM in 2007.
