Reynolds is a grandson of the wealthy tobacco company founder, RJ Reynolds, the company that today makes Camel, Salem, Kool, and Winston cigarettes. Ironically Patrick's father, eldest brother and his aunt all died from smoking the very brands that made them so rich. All were descendants of RJ Reynolds, like Patrick is.
