Thanks Mark for this video! You have good tast! My grandfather - Rudolf Walin - was also a operasinger, he sang with Jenny Lind in Stockholm! I am a composer from Sweden and one of my songs (half of it) it´s out here. The song is called: "The Only Special One" and is one of my best songs ever...(search for: "Magnus Carlson"). The singer is one of the best in sweden!
Merry Christmas! Ulf Sawert. Sweden |

Thanks because you posted all the Jussi Björling selections.
He was the greatest tenor ever! Listen to the Il Trovatore from 1957 (Caprice, complete without Akt 1: scene 1 not included), he's last recorded opera perf. 1960 (Bluebell, Complete). Hugo Hasslo sings Count Luna. They are able to found in Sweden, or "TOCCATA"! Upload more! Thanks very much! |

Thanks very much for introducing me to Jussi Bjorling... I don't know anything about opera, but after listening to that Paul Potts chap I was a bit interested and saw your posting and man..... what a difference. I respect Paul, but he has quite an expansive gulf to cross to match Bjorling. Look forward to more if you happen to have any more.

Thanks a million, Mark! I've been waiting for someone to upload this absolutely outstanding, superb recording of the most beautiful duett in the history of opera (says I ;-) and with the very best of tenors, my countryman Jussi Björling. Pavarotti and the rest "don't even reach up to his heels", as we say in Mexico. When I moved back to my beloved Mexico I had to leave everything behind, including my music collection, and I haven't been able to find this recorfing with Jussi here. You've made my day!
As far as recordings of this particular piece, there's one I really like with the biig ;-) Tagliani brothers (whoever they are). I also love Alfredo Kraus's version of "Je Crois Entendre Encore" from the same opera. So, so, beautiful... Best Regards, Nina |

producer hear on you-tub I think Maistro Pavaroti and the other's must have a nice smile and satisfaction when they can see that contining work fore opera-kultur can reach so many outside the big institution. I have a felling Maistro alway's tried to reach the people in general
( sorry fore dyslektiv spelling in SwedEnglich lingvestik).
